The Challenge Facing Us

Our biggest challenge as a Movement is the need to grow and do so rapidly. This year has been a period of transition; personally and corporately - new national church office (now operating from London), new National Leader and new National Leadership Team. Against that background, we have sought and I believe found the mind of God regarding the key areas to focus on, and had to carefully chart the course ahead, negotiating a number of challenges involving changes in personnel, training, as well as finance and administration.

God has brought us through a critical period; with a number of significant achievements. The key task now is to deepen the envisioning process, translating the vision into practical action and aggressively drive towards INCREASE.

As I look around, a number of encouraging events are taking place. Local Churches are training, equipping and preparing for growth; there is a greater sense of expectancy and forward movement; evidenced by the fact that nearly one in five of the Churches in our Movement are expanding their current building or looking for new, bigger premises to rent or buy, or land to purchase and build from scratch.

Our overriding goal is to double in size between 2009 and 2014, i.e. double numerically. There will be a greater focus on the fundamental drivers of growth. They include: growing and developing people (leadership and ministries at every level); investing in the next generation; focus and drive on evangelism/community outreach; prayer; re-discovering and re-affirming our Apostolic DNA.

Our vision is clear. Our goal is simple. The desire for increase, for enlargement, is growing deeper and stronger every day. God will give us success. We will fulfil His primary purpose and passion enshrined in Isaiah 9:7, as follows: ‘Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end… The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this’
