Serving is activity of the highest order.
Jesus said, ‘Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave’ (Matt. 20.26-27). Jesus’ words provide heaven’s perspective on what lies at the heart of leadership. Serving, then, sits in the centre of Christian ministry, whether that service is expressed in the home, school and workplace, the local church or the national church.
The Apostolic Church makes provision for properly equipped people to be considered as leaders to serve in local churches.
It is normally the case that leadership development is the pathway to leadership appointment. People who desire to serve in a role of appointed leadership should have a track record of serving in the local church and have qualifications for Christian leadership or be willing to undertake suitable training.
